Construction, Financing,
and Public/Private Investment

Presented by Fishermen's News each spring, the Bering Sea Fisheries Conference provides the only forum specifically designed to bring boat owners together with finance providers, shipyards and designers for candid and focused discussions about how we can work together to maximize the economic potential of the recapitalization of the fleet.

Topics for this year’s conference include the following:

The State of the Fleet
An overview of the Bering Sea and distant water fleets – economic opportunities, legislative and regulatory challenges for the year ahead.

Financing: Private and public sector sources of funding
Financing for the vessel owner and for the supplier, the Jones Act trade example, and pending regulatory activity will be part of the discussion.

New Vessel Construction: Making the business model work
The decision to replace or rebuild is predicated on a complex discussion of financing parameters and the development of new technology that make the harvesting and processing operation more efficient and more cost effective.

Public/Private Partnerships
How the public sector can support private initiatives in the Bering Sea and distant water fleets.

Four Bering Sea fishing vessels are under construction or recently delivered to Puget Sound-based ownership groups and more are on the way.

If you are involved in the booming Bering Sea and distant water fisheries—or want to be—our annual Bering Sea Fisheries Conference is the place to be.
